I'm truly sorry if my last post offended anyone. I saw part of it, and I would really like to know what you make of his answer to the question about abortion. I thought it was a little weak, and quite frankly I'm not sure he's going to do anything on this. I find this troubling, as this is an important issue to me and I want to do the right thing.

This is what makes this site so much better then that other one! We don't have to put up with those politically naive moronic imbeciles! They think that you need to speak out about something in order to bring people around to your point of view, what DOPES!!  They don't have the first CLUE as to how to get elected in this country.

Don't they know that republicans always move to the RIGHT after they get elected? Haven't they seen this time after time ? What's WRONG with them! I can't  BELIEVE  they don't see that Bush has cleverly put himself in the middle of the political spectrum to get elected, so  he can do everything they want once he's IN OFFICE!!  Do they really think he could care less about getting reelected?

Don't they realize that Congress has only been biding it's time passing all these liberal bills so that they can fix it all when Bush gets in? They don't give a damn about spending all that money to help themselves get elected! They only want to do what's right for the country, and they'll gladly give up all the power and prestige to do it.

Don't they know that Bush isn't talking about China, the UN, Immigration, the loss of our sovereignty and our dangerous dependence on foreign made goods in order to win? Can't they see that the only way to win is to give up this silly OUTDATED idea of independence!

WHAT'S UP WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!

BTW Check out my post on Breaking News about the latest CNN  Ten Minute poll .... it's got Bush up by .00006%!!!

 (+-11.%)

Sorry. I can't sem to load past post 26, but I am sure you had some tasty nugget of wisdom for a stupid-ass old Bushie like myself.

You really need to take this over to Salon or Slate or something, if you are really out to get laughs from those who appreciate your attempt at humor.

I will not post to this thread further. No matter what I say, you will, no doubt, take it as some lack of humor on my part. Those who know me know much better.

All i know is, my candidate will probably be sworn in to office January 20, and yours will be out of a job, out of money, and totally out of luck.

Laugh while you can. Real voters are at work out here.

BTW, let's add one more comment to your list: GW is wonderful, smart, honest, loyal, a REAL MAN, a man of integrity. He is NOT Buchanan. :-D

Differences between Bush and Gore:

1. Bush will appoint Constitutional judges.

2. Bush will cut taxes.

3. Bush will build missile defense.

4. Bush won't send troops around the world unless in US interest.

5. Bush won't raid Strategic Oil Reserve.

6. Bush favors school vouchers.

7. Bush will privatize Social Security.

8. Bush will sign partial birth abortion bill.

9. Bush won't naturalize six million illegals.

10. Bush does not demonstrate psychotic tendencies.

Differences between Bush and Buchanan:

1. Bush is fifty times more popular.

2. Bush never worked for one-worlder Ted Turner.

3. Bush never sabotaged the Republican Party.

4. Bush actually has experience running something.

5. Bush's VP never claimed to be mentally unstable.

6. Bush doesn't argue that the Holocaust never happened.

7. Bush isn't simultaneously running a book promotion tour.

8. Bush actually has a track record you can compare his words to.

9. Bush has more than a snowball's chance in hell to become President.

However, the group I nominate for "Thinnest of Thin Skins" is the Drug-topia Libertarians. They have all the sense of humor of a Shi'ite cleric searching for anti-Islamic inferences in a Salman Rushdie novel. ;-)

We would all do better to laugh at ourselves occasionally.

er...and what pray tell would the abuse be?

He labled it humor and put it in miscellaneous, exactly as the written rules specify.

Unless of course, you consider anything you disagree with to be abuse. That explains why nobody bothers to complain about the flying personal insults leveled by people like exmarine1.

You have created something of merrit here.  I realize that your opinion is in the minority.  But your view is held by a number of people here.  And that viewpoint is every bit as much valid and rightfully expressed here, as are the opposing views in reaction.

It has been said the Buchanan supporters fill up this forum with worthless arguements.  But I have seldom witnessed as vacant a threads as are offered up by other candidate's supporters on this forum.  That is the topic which you have chosen to address.  And I think your opinion is very valid.

People should go review those threads.  If they bother, they'll find out that your parody is rather accurate.  And whether they support that other person or not, they should recognize the value of accurate parodies, which yours is.

Almost every Buchanan thread is entered by those who despise him.  Almost every one of those threads contain opinions expressing the stupidity of Buchanan supporters.  So it is only fair that your parody be placed in it's own thread for approval or condemnation.

Thanks for your offering.  Try to realize that people's feelings are rather pent up right now.  This may gain you some pain.  But there are those out here in flyover country who find your parody to be delightfully accurate.

I'm as loyal a Bush supporter as any, but I laughed 'til I cried. Hilarious.

Please find it in your heart to forgive those of us who are simply overcome with the idea of having a president who is not lower than pondscum. A president we won't mute the instant he opens his mouth. A president whose every word won't inspire skepticism or anger or disgust.

I'll share your laugh tonight, but I can hardly wait for the inaguration of President George W. Bush.

What's ironic about this is that before the primaries (I'm talking summer '99) anyone here who supported Bush was labeled a "liberal" or a "New World Order RINO" etc.

Back then most freepers were under the bizarre delusion that some nutball like Keyes or Forbes would win the GOP nomination.

How things change!

Absolutely priceless! I'll be voting for Bush, but am not one of his big supporters.

I also wish the bickering between the Bush supporters and the Buchanan supporters would stop. By trashing Bush, the Buchanan supporters aren't going to change the mind of an avid Bush supporter and vice versa. Bill Clinton, Al Gore and the liberal democrats are the enemy. Instead of beating up on each other or trashing Bush/Buchanan, we should be working together to rid, not only the White House, but the entire government of the slime that has infested it.

Why can't people root for their guy without insulting others who don't? Pointing out to a Buchanan supporter that Pat only has 1% isn't going to make that person all of a sudden slap themselves on the forhead and go, "You're right, what was I thinking. I'm voting for Bush." And telling a Bush supporter that if Bush is elected the sun will cease to shine, the oceans will rise and the NWO will be ushered in, isn't going to change their mind. So, what's the point? Save your venom for Clinton/Clinton/Gore/Lieberman, they're the real enemy.

Here's another big difference between Bush and Buchanan:

Bush, as well as other prominant members of his party, support substantial federal tax relief, and returning taxing authority, spending policy formulation, and basic lawmaking responsibilities to the states. Neither Buchanan, nor any prominant member of the Reform party, support substantial tax relief, or returning taxing authority, spending policy formulation, or basic lawmaking responsibilities to the states.

Only by returning taxing authority, spending policy formulation, and basic lawmaking responsibilities to state capitols will any meaningful political reform ever be achievable. All other so-called reform is just smoke and mirrors. The fed-gov needs to be run like a business, with the state capitols as it's customers.

The fact that this thread is still here suggests to me that it's OK with Jim, and if it's OK with him, then I have to admit: You were RIGHT, I was WRONG to be upset with it.

I still don't think it's very funny, but I can see that you have a good point, and that many of my compatriots have a better sense of humor than I do on a Saturday night.

I'm still voting for Bush, and I will encourage all who would listen to do the same, but I was out of line in criticizing you....this time.

It IS funny! Professionally done. I would like the same parody on Gore as well. Done in good taste, with much humor...

Go easy on Jim Robinson, though. Even though he supports Bush (Gore out at all costs, which is noble), he does a good job of keeping the spirit of freedom alive and trys to be as even-handed as one can be (which I am sure can be trying at times). And for that, I commend him. He does a great service to all citizens who respect this country and it freedoms (what's left of them).

I would also like to see a parody on the disruptors at FR. This has become a real problem, which can be attested by recent posts.

A good Sunday to all...I have places to go today. Stay well, and keep the conservative spirit burning brightly.

Cute....some funny spots...especially the stuff about the pix (right on target). This Bushie doesn't consider this offensive or abusive. Some of it was funny, some of it kind of dumb. Just like every other attempt at humor on this forum.

While I would second the motion that you don't quit your day job, I would not hit the abuse button. This is no more a waste of bandwidth than any other vanity. While Jim may have an issue with it, I surely don't.

As for those who bitch and moan about this, maybe they do have too thin a skin.

T'is sad ti's true, ti's true ti's sad.

On or near the mark as all successful parody is. And no venom, but in a lighthearted way points to the truth.

If the Bushies consider this abusive (Ilbay, etc.)they should take a look at some of the rhetoric applied to Bush's opponents on the Right.

Those pictures of Bush with dogs and his children didn't convice me to vote Bush. On the contrary, I side with W.C. Fields who once said something to the effect that anyone who hates dogs and children can't be all bad.

Regards and thanks for the post, the post of the day.

the group I nominate for "Thinnest of Thin Skins" is the Drug-topia Libertarians. They have all the sense of humor of a Shi'ite cleric searching for anti-Islamic inferences in a Salman Rushdie novel

You should have seen these guys go ballistic when on another thread I suggested that the Libertarian party emphasizes its drug legalisation stance at the expense of its more thoughtful and conservative issues to attract the votes of collegiate dopeheads and burned out ex-hippies. You would have thought I'd called their mothers a dirty name by the way the "drug-topians" (as you aptly called them) reacted.

congratulations on ACHIEVABLE objectives: bigger, more intrusive government. Yea! Go team!

Good thing those pesky Democrats won't be in office, their goals are so radially different and unachievable we should all rejoice. I mean, the first thing they'd do is make the government bigger and more intrusive! Plus they act like the Constitution is a Chinese menu, not like OUR guys.

How could Buchanan implement his policies unless he has a big government?

OK, I'll spell it out: Immigration -- we would have to have a Federal army to "protect our border's walls" Buchanan talks about.

English only -- more government bureaucracy to find out if that is the norm in our schools.

Free Trade -- huge government bureaucracy to stop Free Trade, how else would it be possible to enforce such policy?

And the bit goes on

Of course Pat would require a gargantuan government, not to mention a complete police state, to enforce the proposals mentioned above. Pat is a big-government candidate, just like Nader, Gore, and Bush.

As such, all of these proposals would fail, requiring - of course - an even bigger more expensive government, ad infinitum ad nauseum

If you had any knowledge of American history, you'd know that our government ran pretty well for almost 150 years without an income tax. Tariffs and impost fees were utilized and supported for decades by your beloved Republican party. As for "big government" being necessary in the case of immigration; the control of one's borders is the first duty of a sovereign nation. This problem (and it is a problem, regardless of how long the Stupid Party insists on ignoring it) was created because of federal government interference (the 1965 Immigration "Reform" Act-which was a piece of legislation that consciously transformed the ethnic makeup of our population). If you expect Dubya to do anything "conservative," you're kidding yourself. Remember the convention and expect instead a large dose of "inclusiveness" and "diversity," not tax cuts, less government and less spending.

Insults? Who called who a pompous ass? Who called who someone that even Will Rogers couldn't like? What I said was not an insult, but the truth; until 1913, America had no income tax system. Government expenditures were financed through those dreaded tariffs and imposts. And the Republican Party steadfastly supported tariffs well into the twentieth century, when they gradually morphed into the Stupid Party.

The reason this isn't funny is the same reason why the Tom Green show isn't funny - it's over the top, it's too much. This isn't satire, it's a tantrum with someone with an axe to grind. Good satire has the power to even make the subject of the satire not take themselves too seriously - here what we see is just a lengthy exposition of this Patsie's perception of the Bush supporters - no particular humour involved, except to other Patsies.

To: bigunreal

Taxation in the US started in 1660, however, for purpose of this discussion we will start in:

1896 For the first time, the Democratic Party platform endorsed income taxation. A number of Democrats had already introduced constitutional amendments to allow for it, and found that rhetorical attacks on the Supreme Court resonated well with their constituents.

The electoral campaign of William Jennings Bryant, however, focused extensively on the silver issue. The Republican platform made no mention of an income tax. The party's nominee, William McKinley, campaigned on prosperity ("a full dinner pail"), "sound money," and high tariffs. In a watershed election, a victorious McKinley managed to retain Republican electoral strongholds while making inroads into urban areas (New York, Boston, Chicago) formally known as Democratic bulwarks. Bryant ran strongly only in the South, the Populist West, and silver mining states. The watershed election of 1896 brought an end to an era of closely contested partisan elections, and inaugurated a period of political stability that would allow for a broader airing of issues on the national stage.

1897

The strain of the Depression had forced the government to run a deficit since 1893. The need for revenue and the mandate of the election of 1896 prompted Congressional Republicans to pass the Dingley Tariff, pushing rates to an all-time high. By request of President McKinley, the act also reinstated, redefined and advanced the reciprocity principle. The tariff of 1897

enjoyed the most extended tenure of any general tariff act in U.S. history (the Walker Tariff of 1846 was second).

Its longevity was attributable in part to the stability of the Republican regime in the wake of the political "realignment" following the 1896 elections, as well as the general prosperity that followed.

1898

The Spanish-American War proved too brief to inspire the array of financial innovations required to prosecute the Civil War. Congress, however, did not rely exclusively on tariffs or excises to fund the war effort; it turned instead to a national inheritance tax to meet the costs of combat.

The inheritance tax boasted several well-known proponents, the most surprising of whom may have been steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. In "The Gospel of Wealth," his renowned 1890 essay in the North American Review, Carnegie advocated a progressive federal inheritance tax designed to confiscate most of a decedent's estate, leaving only a modest allowance for immediate heirs. Notable academic economists from Richard T. Ely to E.R.A. Seligman concurred with Carnegie.

The bill passed by Congress in 1898 taxed legacies and inherited personal property on a graduated scale according to the size of the estate and the degree of relationship to the deceased (surviving husbands and wives received a general exemption). A maximum rate of 15% applied to bequests from estates valued over $1 million to distant relatives, non-relatives, or "bodies politic or corporate." The bill also included an excise on receipts in excess of $200,000 assessed to firms in the petroleum and sugar refining industries. Overall, war-time inheritance taxation yielded about $22.5 million.

The inheritance tax endured a war revenue reduction bill in 1901, but Congress repealed it a year later. Several prominent Southern legislators argued to retain the tax, since it reached citizens and classes of property untouched by other federal tax provisions, but a large Republican majority insured its demise.

The tax did survive judicial review. In Knowlton v. Moore (1900) the Supreme Court ruled inheritance taxation as an "indirect excise not subject to apportionment." More important, the Justices found that the tax's progressivity did not violate the Constitution's uniformity clause.

1899-1900

Questions of trade gradually grew inseparable from questions of foreign policy. Secretary of State John Hay's "Open Door Notes" to European powers called for territorial integrity (no scramble for European colonization) and equal commercial opportunity in China, the linchpin of the potentially lucrative Asian market. The "open door principle" became a foreign policy imperative, as Internationalists continued to question the efficacy of high tariffs that discouraged free and market expansion. American officials called for an Open Door in Asia, where they had less influence relative to other established European nations. In the Western Hemisphere, where the U.S. stood as the dominant power, they supported a selective reduction of tariffs through reciprocity agreements.

Rather than encourage hemispheric competition for certain commodities (like agricultural products), Americans preferred to reduce duties only on the specific goods they needed to import. Besides, many Latin American countries, as well as Canada, saw disadvantages to economic integration with a potentially hegemonic United States.

From the Encyclopedia Britannica.

We did not have a federal income tax until 1913. Your timeline stops short of there for some reason. Of course, the Democratic party endorsed a graduated income tax years before we actually had one. So did Karl Marx, even earlier, in his Communist Manifesto. The fact is that government expenditures were financed primarily by tariffs and impost fees until 1913, when a constitutional amendment establishing the income tax was passed. Further, the Republican party supported tariffs strongly well into the twentieth century. My point is that Buchanan's position on trade (or any other issue, for that matter) is hardly outside our traditional mainstream. On the contrary, it's far closer to traditional American trade policy than the present day Stupid Party position. Buchanan only seems like a "right-wing extremist" because the American middle has been pulled so far to the left over the past forty years. Dubya supports the welfare state in all its glory, and can only offer vague, lukewarm promises about a very insignificant tax cut; he does not propose, in the slightest, to cut the size and scope of government and wouldn't dream of scrapping our idiotic tax system. The only argument anyone can make for voting for him is that he's not Gore. Sorry, but I value my vote a little more than that. Go, Pat, Go!!

We did not have a federal income tax until 1913.

Woodrow Wilson
28th President (1913-1921)

Wilson maneuvered through Congress three major pieces of legislation. The first was a lower tariff, the Underwood Act; attached to the measure was a graduated Federal income tax. The passage of the Federal Reserve Act provided the Nation with the more elastic money supply it badly needed. In 1914 antitrust legislation established a Federal Trade Commission to prohibit unfair business practices.

INCOME TAX

In the United States an income tax was first tried during the Civil War. Although it had already expired, it was held to be constitutional by the Supreme Court in 1881. Another income tax imposed in 1894 was, however, declared unconstitutional by the court. In 1913 the 16th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, and the personal income tax was made permanent.

From the Encyclopedia Britannica

In 1913 Woodrow Wilson was the Democrat President who made this wonderful tax possible. :-)

My point is that Buchanan's position on trade [1] (or any other issue, for that matter [2]) is hardly outside our traditional mainstream. On the contrary, it's far closer to traditional American trade policy than the present day Stupid Party position. Buchanan only seems like a "right-wing extremist" because the American middle has been pulled so far to the left over the past forty years. [3]

(1) Buchanan's position on trade is identical with Gephardt's and Jesse Jackson's protectionist and wrong-headed views. Perhaps you meant to say Pat's views on trade are within the traditional leftist labor union Democrat mainstream!

(2) Pat's anti-Semitism and blind unflinching support for accused Nazi war criminals is part of what traditional mainstream? You must be referring to Nazi Germany and Mussolini's Italy during the 1930s and 40s. Pat would have been "mainstream" in those countries at that time. His revisionist take on WW II is part of the same "traditional mainstream" as Fr. Coglin, Ezra Pound, the KKK and the John Birch Society.

(3) Leftward pull over the past forty years? Let's see: Highest income tax rates slashed from 70% to 28%. Collapse of the Soviet Union and overthrow of Communism in Eastern bloc and Soviet satellite states. Were you asleep from 1980 to 1992, Rip?

Dubya supports the welfare state in all its glory, [demonstrably false] and can only offer vague, lukewarm promises about a very insignificant tax cut[$460 billion over 5 years!]; he does not propose, in the slightest, to cut the size and scope of government [You can't cut taxes without shrinking government. As Governor of Texas, Bush delivered the two largest tax cuts in Texas history: $1 billion in 1997 and $2 billion in 1999.] and wouldn't dream of scrapping our idiotic tax system [Neither will Pat.]. The only argument anyone can make for voting for him is that he's not Gore. [Demonstrably false even if you consider only the comments posted on this satirical thread. Michael Dukakis, Walter Mondale, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Fidel Castro, Dan Rather, Pat Buchanan and you also meet the NOT Gore criterion and I guarantee no one here is interested in voting for any of you.] Sorry, but I value my vote a little more than that. Go, Pat, Go!!

Yeah, you value your vote so much that you're willing to cut off your nose to spite your face by helping Gore win. Bush and Gore are running neck and neck in certain states. If the number of votes for Buchanan exceeds Gore's margin of victory in any given state, then you'll have made a difference. . . for Gore!

I hope you Brigaders will do the country a big favor and wear your Buchanan button proudly after the election if Gore wins. They're less noticeable than a "Kick Me" sign, and will serve the same purpose.

I've never laughed so hard at any FR thread. Absolutely hirarious! Great parody.

I think the reason for the attitude of Bush supporters so effectively parodied on this post is the fact that many conservatives are outraged at the abuses of the last 8 years and desparate to win. Many are willing to compromise a little to have the best chance. (Not a bad idea, BTW. This is politics, afterall). Seeing the give and take from a new perspective is a lot of fun.

That said... Go Bush Go! You da man!

Ivan..... I see it went over your head... too bad.

It was "anti-semitic" to support the "war criminal" John Demjanjuk, who was railroaded out of this country to a show trial in Israel, then was exonerated by the Israeli Supreme Court? What other proven "war criminals" has Buchanan supported? By the way, the unconstitutional Office of Special Investigations has never produced a real "war criminal," just hapless and very elderly anti-communists who made the mistake of choosing the nazis over the communists as the two fought for the right to occupy their homelands. Again, this "nazi" and "anti-semitic" stuff is indicative of the lack of creativitiy on the part of Buchanan's many enemies. Stop getting your labels from the odious likes of professional "right wing extremist" hunters like Morris Dees. But then again, if you like Dubya, you probably think guys like Dees, and agencies like the OSI, are perfectly legitimate.

OK, let's make a bet. If you win or if there is more government intervention under GW, you'll win a couple of brownies made especially by me. If, on the other hand, there is the same or less government intervention or expansion, I'll win the whole brownie cake. Is it a deal? ;-)

For measurements, look only at the size - in dollars or percent of GNP or whatever metric you like - of the government. The degree of 'intervention' is much more difficult to measure. Does regulating the size of your toilet count as much as confiscating your farmland because it has standing water on it? ;-)

You figure out a way to download a brownie, though, and you're on. ;-)

This is the sort of "lynch mob justice" we have come to expect from the type of people who support "hate crimes" legislation. According to this logic, anyone who comes to the aid of the hapless accussed in defense of his (and our) constitutional rights is a N***** lover who likes seeing girls get raped. We can see from FR its not by any means an exclusively Democratic phenomenon. In fact, I bet dubbyah takes a lot of heat in his party if he opposes more measures like the hate crime legislation or VAWA.

When the government regulates the size of a toilet, they do it for all toilets and, depending upon the general level of current conformity, this could have anywhere from a minor to a huge financial impact on the citizenry. The government confiscating someone's land due to a fabricated excuse, like too much standing water, would not likely impact a large number of people because it is not a regulation. It is simply a land grab for some ulterior motive. The first case may or may not be offensive, depending upon the engineering facts that support the decision. The second case sounds rather more dubious because it smells of political opportunism. Therefore, I would conclude the second is a greater attack upon freedoms and liberties.

Since virtual reality is no replacement for a real brownie, let's agree to pay in real goods. :-)

Hmmm...toilet regulations affect us all and waste water, as the regulation size doesn't has enough water to flush reliably, forcing many people to flush two or three times, resulting in a net waste of water over the old unregulated toilets.

On the other hand, the land-grabbing seems institutional and pervasive. How do you compare the loss of a relative few with the inconvenience and waste of many millions?

Since virtual reality is no replacement for a real brownie, let's agree to pay in real goods. :-)

Well, we'll need to settle on a metric first. How about a very simple one: we take the number of gov't programs started or extended and subtract the number of gov't programs ended. I'll happily bet you a brownie that the result will be greater then zero. Much greater. ;-)

Or we could simply measure the cost of the fedgov in dollars adjusted for inflation - I predict an increase of 5%-15% with Bore, and "only" 3%-12% with Gush.

LOL...it does offer an interesting perspective. However, considering the way the polls are shaping up, it would be disingenuous to assume that the pro-Bush sentiment is limited to this WebForum.

In any event, I am very hopeful that--come 8 November 2000--all factions of the Right draw together to appeal to Dubyuh's better (RightWing) angels. Lord knows he's gonna be getting a lot of pressure from those on the other side of the fence and we need all Patriots on board. That doesn't mean y'all can't vote for Phillips, Browne, or Buchanan, it just means that we've got a lot of work ahead of us and the FlameWars don't necessarily help us achieve our overarching goals of less Guv'ment and more Individual Responsibility!!

I must disagree, my FRiend, I think you're gonna be very pleasantly surprised by the GOP Congress and White House "conspiring" to decrease the role and cost of the Federal Guv'ment. Personally, I'd like to see us measure the decrease in the size of the Fed spending as a % of Gross Domestic Product. That is, reduce it from its present 24%+ to LESS THAN 12% in twelve years...that's only 1% per year and should give Federal Bureaucrats plenty of time to find real jobs.

Hmmm...toilet regulations affect us all and waste water, as the regulation size doesn't has enough water to flush reliably, forcing many people to flush two or three times, resulting in a net waste of water over the old unregulated toilets.

That was already answered in my previous post when I said, - depending upon the engineering facts that support the decision. - Apparently the engineering facts do not support the regulation.

On the other hand, the land-grabbing seems institutional and pervasive. How do you compare the loss of a relative few with the inconvenience and waste of many millions?

Because regulating road construction, housing, etc. is morally justifiable, but it needs the support of honest fact. Your example is of an empirical and not a moral failure. I must advise you though that your question is too academic for my taste. It is the type of question that causes professors to write endless books. We have to keep a constraint on our emotions and let our respect for one another allow for an honest assessment of each other's point of view. Your question is not particularly difficult to answer if one stays away from academic overkill in which for every answer there is a new set of questions.

Well, we'll need to settle on a metric first. How about a very simple one: we take the number of gov't programs started or extended and subtract the number of gov't programs ended. I'll happily bet you a brownie that the result will be greater then zero. Much greater. ;-)

Actually, we need to settle the election first. Secondly, I have no intention of studying government documents in an effort to determine the rise and fall of its programs. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we will need mutual agreement on the results to settle this bet. How long do we wait to decide? Certainly not after the first day in office. Would the last day be inappropriate?

Or we could simply measure the cost of the fedgov in dollars adjusted for inflation - I predict an increase of 5%-15% with Bore, and "only" 3%-12% with Gush.

Just how big are these brownies to be? For me, a gentleman's agreement is preferable to a legalistic one. :-)

You're more then welcome! That's a great link page you have there , I was wondering how the heck to find anything now without searches. Now I'll be wondering if you'll ever see my reply to you.

(Boy, am I glad you didn't yell at me this time)

I must disagree, my FRiend, I think you're gonna be very pleasantly surprised by the GOP Congress and White House "conspiring" to decrease the role and cost of the Federal Guv'ment. Personally, I'd like to see us measure the decrease in the size of the Fed spending as a % of Gross Domestic Product. That is, reduce it from its present 24%+ to LESS THAN 12% in twelve years...that's only 1% per year and should give Federal Bureaucrats plenty of time to find real jobs.

Now that's what I call compassionate conservatism! Hey, if the bureaucrats can throw welfare recipients off the government dole and into real jobs cold turkey, it's only fair that the bureaucrats get off the dole too!

When are you running for office, MUD? You got my vote!

"...how did it go on the 7th? Was there a report? I can't find anything without the search . If you posted something on it, could you post me a link?"

It was awesome, my FRiend...beautiful weather, lots of wonderful company, great speeches, and Poker Face was "Da Bomb!!" Jeff Head's got a link, and there are some other threads, but I haven't posted a thread yet...it's been hectic at work and this lack of Self-Search has really been a hassle. I do have 54 pictures and a scanner I need to hook up, though, so I reckon I'll get a thread started somehow!!

FReegards...MUD

BTW, AAPATRIOT was there Saturday in all his glory. I'd talked to him on the phone, butthis was the first time I've met him. Also, the first GoPatGoer I've met at a FReeper event. Good dude...we actually tag-teamed inquiring tourists for a good hour-plus, answering their questions about the rally and explaining how our Guv'ment is short-changing our children with their present spinelessness. His speech was also the loudest--well, tied with Buckeroo's--as he offered a pretty decent rendition of Braveheart's "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM" to everyone within 10-15 city blocks...BWAHAHAHA!!

Thanks Mud I'm glad to hear it went well, sounds like a blast! Hurry up already with the Pictures! Who cares about work? This important  LOL .  And don't forget to bump me over there, if search is still out could you mail me a link? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

That's great about AA, I'm glad to hear he is well, I miss his post.

"AA, I'm glad to hear he is well, I miss his posts."

Me too, but as I told him at the Rally, it's within his power to make the changes to get reinstated. Bein' civil ain't a sign of weakness or compromise...it's just a way folks should carry on unless they are confrontin' an honest-to-goodness brain-dead, Willfully-Ignorant, Clinton-lovin' Lib'ral, then civility's fer the birds!!

Still, if it wasn't fer rules, the Disruptors would destroy this Forum sooner than you can say, "Slick Willie's a Rapin', Murderin', Treas'nous, Lyin' Sumbich Lib'ral PUNK!!" And take it from one who has had their posting rights suspended this time last year--unfairly, IMHO, I might add (=^D)--JimRob's Banning/Suspension process seems relatively fair. I urge those Patriotic FReepers who are presently relegated to "lurker" status to e-mail the Big Man and politely request re-instatement. I know little about the circumstances surrounding any of the suspensions, but I reckon even JimRob would agree that we need all patriotic hands on deck fer the next month's labors!!

Same here. Best I can tell though, it seems fair with lots of second chances (look at A+) . Big difference from that other  site.
